Districts Announce Parents are able to obtain their instruments from any music dealer. In breaking with traditional practices where the school districts promote a favorite dealer, most districts now encourage parents to seek an instrument dealer that best meets the needs of the parent rather than the District.

“We started renting from Naperville Music two years ago, because the quality of their instruments is far superior to what we had been given from the other major music store in town. All in all, the service, quality and price is second to none. It just doesn't make sense to go anywhere else." Kim B., Naperville, IL

BAND INSTRUMENT PAYMENT COMPARISON

It's important to factor in the major variables when comparing the cost of your instrument rental.

Introductory Cost and Period- this is when most children will decide to go throught the year or not. Compare the cost and the length of the introductory periods- they are not the same everywhere. At Naperville Music we have long trial periods with a low introductory rate.

Re-occurring monthly rate- be sure to add in the base rent, required mainenance fees, and sales tax ( yes some companies collect a sales tax on your rental)

Equity Per payment- this is the amount of your rental that is actually applying to the purchase. High maintenance fees can reduce this by a large amount. To find your equity per payment simply take your monthy payment, then subtract the "insurance or maintenance fees" then subtract sales tax (if it is being charged). What's left is your equity credit.

The Final Prepayment Discount- the bigger the better. Naperville Music offers that largest prepayment discount of 30%, most other companies offer between 20% and 25%. The bigger the prepayment discount the more you can save if you prepay.

We Include 'Insurance" in our prices-Repairs, Maintenance and Insurance is Included with every rental at Naperville Music, and the cost is included in the rates we quote. Remember our "insurance" is just $3 per month, others charge as much as $6 per month- thereby reducing your credit to the purchase. You can learn more secrets about the Insurance game that many vendors play.

”When I went to sign my daughter up for band there were several music stores at the registration all promoting instrument rental. Our band director recommended going with a particular company. They were a little more expensive and I almost went with them since I usually feel that "you get what you pay for". However, I decided to go with Naperville Music because I had purchased a piano there and the people had treated us well. I felt we had no reason to go elsewhere. The clarinet has been just perfect, no problems at all. However, if we did have any problems, I have no doubt that we would receive prompt and friendly service as we always have from Naperville Music. Thanks! Susan and Eric in Naperville -
