The Naperville Music Difference

Experienced guitarists have different needs than a beginner, or a collector. Although many players are collectors, we all know that you treat the guitars you play a little differently from the ones in your collection.

As a player, we realize that you may not want us to help so much in the selection process. But
when it comes to picking out that special guitar, availability is just as important as picking the model you want.

After all, what good does it do you to finally settle in on the guitar you want, and then find out that they are not currently available. Frankly that is the problem with most internet and mail order sales. The selection appears to be endless- until you want to buy one. And honestly, it's the same with us. Guitars are in and out of stock everyday. New ones come in everyday. Manufacturer's back order products constantly.

We know how frustrating this can be, so we have a way to solve the frustration for both you and for us. Just contact us when you are thinking about purchasing a guitar. Our systems are tapped into the manufacturer's. For most guitars we sell, we can tell you immediately if we have it in stock, when it is scheduled to arrive, and if there are any 'unadvertised' deals that may apply to the guitar you want.

It's a little extra step that let's you know exactly where the guitar you want is in the delivery cycle. It is the difference between being totally thrilled with your new purchase when you get it, or being totally frustrated by the time it arrives. Promising a delivery date that is impossible doesn't help anyone. Sometimes just knowing the right people, and who to call, is the difference between a 120 days delivery and a 2 day delivery.

Now a little bit about Naperville Music...

If you are in the Chicago area, it would be best to contact us first for product availability, then if possible arrange to pick your guitar up at our store. Why? Because we would like to meet you, and get to know you a little better. For over 36 years we have treated our customers as friends not transactions. We would also like to show you our business. Where we teach, where our luthier works, show you a little bit about the team of music professionals you are doing business with.

Now a little bit about our guitars.....

Any internet store can sell you a guitar. So why should you buy from Naperville Music?

Unless you specify otherwise, we will personally inspect your guitar before shipping it to you. Anyone, including us, can ship you a box. It's easy to do. But that has nothing to do with loving guitars, it has everything to do with shipping boxes. It may as well be a box of copy paper to most web stores.

So what makes us different? Most web stores say-"if there's something wrong with your guitar, ship it back". The question is, why did they ship it in the first place? We will inspect your guitar for cosmetic details, neck condition, fret condition and alignment, playability, electronics operation, and overall quality. If our pickiest inspector doesn't just love your guitar like it was his own, and if you sales person doesn't agree, we will not ship it.

If every guitar was as perfect as we expect it to be when we opened the box, our guitar tech would be out of work. Are these big problems? Actually not at all. They are routine issues. Quickly fixed by a trained technician, once and for all. If you purchased you dream guitar from another internet store and the selector switch didn't work or worked intermittently, could you return your dream guitar? Sure but it wouldn't quite be the dream guitar now would it?

So unless you don't want us to do that one last final inspection, and do that final dealer prep, you will receive your guitar in perfect condition, and it will be one you can play immediately, and one you will be proud of.

How about price?

Is price everything? To a lot of people yes. Is it important to everyone? Yes. But price is just a part of what most people really want which is value. I know what you're thinking, "Oh boy, here it comes- they are going to be more expensive". Well actually not. We do business in the real world and we must be competitive.

So we keep our pencils sharp. Our stated sales policy is that we will meat or beat any advertised price. But we will go one step further, we will be here to help you both before and after your purchase. When you make a purchase from Naperville Music you establish a relationship with one of our sales associates. They are responsible to see that you are happy with your purchase. How is that possible? Because we are not a warehouse shipping boxes. Our sales team have been with us an average of 15 years.

You are also establishing a relationship with our company. We have been doing business under the same name and in the same town for over 30 years. We have no bankruptcies, no lawsuits, just happy customers. The president and vice president of our company are available to every customer every business day.

So when you make a purchase with Naperville Music, you know that we will be here when you need us.

Because guitars are unique, so we would encourage you to contact us for more information on the guitar you are looking at. Call us, email us, or chat live with us.

We would be happy to check availability, and arrange financing if you wish. Better yet join our customer list. We won’t spam you every week with trivial nonsense about what happened 25 years ago in the music scene, but you will be informed about some pretty cool guitars.

What about your experience with us?

We want you experience to be a great one and we stand behind everything we sell. To show you that we mean it call and talk with the president or vice president of the company any time you have a question or concern. I’m pretty sure you can’t do that with any of the big box house music store or internet stores.
