Pearl River GP150

4′ 11″ Baby Grand Piano • Traditional Series

The Pearl River GP150 is a 4-foot 11-inch "baby grand" piano, widely recognized as one of North America's best-selling models due to its excellent balance of compact size, robust construction, and high-quality sound. This instrument is part of the Traditional Series, designed for musicians who desire the elegance and action of a grand piano but need to conserve space in a home, studio, or small venue.

Rich Tone & Thoughtful Design

Despite its modest dimensions, the GP150 is engineered to produce the depth and resonance typically associated with much larger instruments through clever design features and quality materials.

  • Tapered Soundboard: It features an all-spruce, solid-core tapered soundboard, which is essential for a wide dynamic range, improved sustain, and a clear, distinct tone.

  • "Wide-Tail" Design: An innovative design feature that expands the area in the bass section, producing a fuller, deeper sound than expected from a piano of this size.

  • Hammers and Strings: The piano utilizes Pearl River's hammers with high-quality German felt, ensuring durability and a superior tonal response, along with genuine German Röslau wire strings.

  • Full Sostenuto Pedal: Unlike many baby grands, the GP150 comes standard with a full sostenuto middle pedal, offering professional-level control over musical expression.

Durable & Elegant Construction

Combining traditional craftsmanship with robust engineering, the GP150 is built for longevity and visual appeal.

  • Iron Plate: It features a traditional sand-cast iron plate that provides essential structural integrity and minimizes undesirable harmonic feedback.

  • Tuning Stability: A 19-ply, cross-banded maple pin block ensures excellent tuning stability across various climates and seasons.

  • Classic Finishes: The cabinet is available in timeless, high-polish finishes, such as polished ebony or white, complemented by solid brass hardware.

  • Safety Feature: A slow-close fallboard mechanism is included to prevent the key cover from slamming shut, protecting fingers and the piano's finish.
